Y-3 Introduces Chapter 2 of its Spring/Summer 2022 Collection

Having launched the first chapter of its Spring/Summer 2022 collection earlier this year, Y-3 returns to present its second seasonal offering. A continuation of the brands “20 Years: Re-Coded” anniversary celebrations, Chapter 2 emphatically continues the thematic exploration of key moments from the brand’s past, while simultaneously reimagining its future.

For Chapter 2, Y-3 steps triumphantly into tomorrow with a striking collection inspired by the concept of Transformative Optimism. Drawing on the brand’s history of relaxed sport silhouettes, packable adaptability, and unexpected florals, the collection features a suite of bright, avant-garde garments, designed for the summer season. Here, light technical fabrics abound as discreet trimming lends a purposeful design edge to select pieces.

Delving expressively into the Y-3 archive, Chapter 2 is punctuated by the presence of a distinctive floral print which merges six different prints from the brand’s past into one. Meanwhile, a suite of evocative accessories provides a fitting accompaniment to the apparel offering: including, bags, caps, bucket hats, socks, belts, towels, and bathrobes.

The footwear selection is then home to a number of bold, brightly colored, silhouettes including a floral update to the Y-3 MAKURA, as well as a series of stripped back, white and gray colorways of iconic Y-3 styles.

Accompanying the launch of Spring/Summer 2022 Chapter 2 is a radically optimistic campaign shot by Charlotte Wales and styled by Robbie Spencer, with creative direction from Jamie Reid. At once looking to the future, while channeling the lens of the past, movement director Yagamoto expertly abstracts the dynamic language of sport in order to subvert purposeful motion into transformative aesthetic beauty. Transitioning between two evocative-yet-contrasting floral-scapes crafted by set designer Max Bellhouse from real flowers and printed backdrops, the seasonal color palette is brought to life as blurred exposure captures the inherent energy and fervor of the collection.

Y-3 Spring/Summer 2022 Chapter 2 is available in store and at d-mop.com.
