Y-3 is opening its first ever Australian store at Westfield Sydney on 1 March 2023.
A permanent collaboration between Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas founded in 2002, Y-3 is the original fashion sportswear brand.
The Y-3 Sydney store is the first Y-3 store to open in Australia. Designed in Japan and capturing the bold, pioneering and innovative spirit of Y-3, the store design recontextualises materials and colour palettes usually found in the sporting arena. Portuguese cork columns, hand-painted tapestry walls, and discs of mottled rubber and recycled rainbow-flecked plastics create an unexpected synergy between natural and synthetic materials in the expansive space.
For over 20 years Y-3 has pioneered a uniquely disruptive approach to sportswear, evocatively blending Japanese craft with German innovation through the brandโs inimitable design language. Reimagining the very foundations of the brand, the collection blends Japanese craft with German engineering as the brand subversively looks ahead to a new era of elevated design and avant-garde aestheticism.
